How did you end up working at Denholm?
I absolutely adore the FMCG sector and had always been aware of Denholm’s profile in the Food and Drinks industries. I had been working in recruitment for only 3 months when I was contacted by one of the team to see if I would be interested in a meeting - I jumped at the chance and the rest is history.

What do you enjoy most about Denholm?
The people. Working with a team of like-minded individuals who truly care about their jobs, clients and candidates is a pretty special thing.

What are your career highlights?
I think feeling like you have made a difference – whether to somebody’s career or a client’s business, is pretty amazing and is the cornerstone of why I do this job.
Away from work, what do you like to do in your spare time?
If you had asked me this 2.5 years ago, I would have said going out socialising with friends and trying the latest tipple on the George Street jaunt. Now, I have an 18-month-old daughter who is the apple of our eye. She is quite the little lady and already seems to have a keen eye for a good Single Malt (thanks to her Daddy!!!)
Tell us something not many people know about you.
Before I went to University, I was one of thirteen to get into an acting course at Paul McCartney’s Drama School
Latest guilty pleasure?
That sweet spot on a Friday night when our daughter has drifted off to sleep and me and my husband sit chatting in front of the fire over a decent bottle of Barolo.
Who is your ‘must follow’ on social?
The Spirits Business, The Macallan and Ryan Reynolds for comic relief
What was the last book you read and last film/boxset you watched?
Having studied English Literature at University, I would love to say something like Paradise Lost but in all honesty, the last book I read was The Gruffalo. Best Boxset at the moment is definitely Designated Survivor and movie…The Little Mermaid!
What would be your advice to someone entering recruitment?
Never, ever, ever give up.
If there was one thing you want people to know about your job, what would it be?
You have to put in the work. Working in FMCG recruitment isn’t about reading a job spec and trying to find a tenuous link with a candidate in your network. You must go that extra mile to fully understand what a client is looking for in terms of skill-set, culture and profile and connect them with candidates who also have the same expectation. And you have to care. There is no point in working in recruitment if you don’t care.
