Job Title: Basel 3.1/SDDT SME – Gap Analysis Lead
Location: UK (Remote, with occasional travel to office)
Contract Duration: Initial 6 months, likely extensions

Purpose of the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive professional to coordinate and lead a detailed gap analysis between current calculations and reporting practices, and the regulatory requirements set by Basel 3.1 and Small Domestic Deposit Takers (SDDT). This role is key in ensuring the organisation meets regulatory compliance and aligns with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gap Analysis: Lead the detailed analysis of current systems and practices in relation to Basel 3.1 andSDDT requirements.
- Develop a schedule outlining the calculation and reporting requirements relevant to the organisation.
- Engage with SMEs across the business to confirm compliance or identify any gaps.
- Assess the level of effort required to address gaps.
- Leverage industry best practices to ensure compliance and maintain alignment with regulatory standards.
- Collaboration & Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders from Risk, Finance, Treasury, Operations, and other teams to drive the gap analysis process.
- Regulatory Interpretation: Provide expert insight into regulatory requirements where clarity is needed, drawing on industry knowledge and emerging practices.
- Gap Closure Plan: Create a detailed plan to address gaps, including estimates on resources, cost, and timelines.
Experience & Knowledge Required:
- Extensive experience in interpreting regulatory requirements, specifically Basel 3.1 and SDDT.
- Proven track record in leading gap analysis projects related to new regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of industry practices related to Basel 3.1 and SDDT compliance.
- Ability to effectively size and plan a gap closure program, estimating activity, costs, internal resource impact, and timelines.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong ability to interpret regulatory requirements and their implications on internal processes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables) and Microsoft Office.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, logical, and organised with a flexible and proactive approach.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex information to senior stakeholders.

- Initial contract duration of 6 months, with a daily rate on offer
