We’re excited to be working with our Utilities client on a new Senior Business Development Manager role. This is a brand new role, created as there’s some great opportunities in the market right now to build on their already sizeable market-share and contribute to the future growth of the business.
You’ll not just be “selling a product”, you’ll be looking at the bigger picture to help drive additional growth. Working with customers across the UK, this will be a mix of existing and new targets as well as identifying partnership opportunities.
Whilst you’ll spend some time at head office in Edinburgh initially in order to get to know the business, the majority of your time will be on the road meeting prospects. We’re therefore flexible on where you are located in the UK
We’re looking for:
- An experienced Business Development Specialist with exposure to Utilities, Energy, Water, Professional Services
- An excellent track record of solution-selling with success in achieving sales targets with a varying customer portfolio
- Expertise in influencing stakeholders at all levels
- An account planning/development approach to your selling
- Able to talk the talk – whether you’re speaking to customers or internal engineers, you’ll be comfortable building relationships across the board
- Existing relationships in this space would be advantageous
- Driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
You will be:
- Owning a sales target to drive sales growth
- Developing and executing a targeted strategy focused on direct sales and indirect (Partner) engagement
- Working closely with colleagues across Commercial, Marketing and Director of Sales
- Generating new business relationships and negotiating on new revenue streams
- Creating and maintaining business development partnerships that align with overall sales strategy
- Forecasting and managing sales pipeline
- Working with bid management team on new proposals
