Head of Product Management



£120,000 plus relocation

Denholm are delighted to be working with a pioneer in the global medical diagnostic industry, on a newly created Head of Product Management vacancy. 

Based in central Scotland (full relocation packages are available); as Head of Product Management you’d be responsible for end-to-end management of a new offering for the business – working closely with R&D, sales and commercial, marketing and regulatory colleagues around the world.

You’ll immerse yourself in the industry and familiarise yourself with the challenges and innovations within the ‘point of care’ (POC) market, relative to cardiovascular disease. 

The role involves product strategy and planning, market/ competitor analysis, product and market development, and support for commercial organisation. Specifically, as Head of Product Management – your duties will include:
  • Managing a ‘Product Strategy’ and Developing key products:
    • Producing a high-level market map and product roadmap/priorities
    • Competitor analysis and positioning
    • Drafting product inserts and other related collateral
    • Overall product kit development, tracking costs, managing vendor relationships
    • Liaising with marketing, R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, customer services and commercial as required. 
  • Driving Product Launch 
    • Supporting the global launch of product pipeline tests
    • Driving product segmentation, targeting, positioning 
    • Creating a market development strategy with commercial team 
    • Global stakeholder engagement and business development support
    • Ensuring regulatory/ registration strategy in place 
    • Forecasting
    • Developing case studies and business cases as required
    • Support Marketing toolkit development 
    • Creating collateral for sales force and customer training initiatives
This is a huge role, which will carry a great deal of autonomy, control and impact within this fantastic organisation. To be considered, you should be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential Skills
  • Degree in Biomedical, Life Science or Healthcare 
  • 5+ years’ experience in Marketing, Product Management or Medical Affairs in diagnostics
  • Strong analytical skills and market understanding
  • Familiarity with diagnostic industry practices and guidelines, especially POC
  • Effective at building relationships and collaborating effectively within many departments as well as externally with customers and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability of working in a fast-paced, organisation that needs to react quickly to changing market demands.
